Boginspro
I am planning to go to Ireland this summer for a week, i shall be taking the car by ferry and arriving at Dublin, and i am wanting to make my way along the south coast and up the west coast before returning, can you recommend any little non commercialised towns along the way, or even better any B&B's? I think you will gather from all these posts that everywhere in Ireland is lovely. The second time I went there for a visit I stayed for about seven years and I wish I had never left and could get back there to live permanently. GLASGOWOODS
Northern Ireland is brilliant too. I lived there for a couple of years in a quaint village called Glenavey. Near to the UKs largest lake (Lough Neagh) 151 square miles. 20 miles long/9 miles wide. Drive up the Antrim coast for fab scenery.

Yeah, that seems to be the case, and only going for seven nights is a bit tough..my list so far is first night in Dublin second in Dunmore East third in Kinsale fourth was going to be Baltimore, but too close to Kinsale, and want to spend more time up the west coast.... So Killarney Fifth Kinvara or Galway.. sixth Killybegs and a number seven to fit in before we head back to Dublin
janie48
A few years ago a cousin of mine and his wife climbed 'The Reek' on a cold and foggy day, as they were nearing the top they passed a man coming down who said " Not long now lads and the soup and sandwiches at the cafe are lovely". When they got to the top my cousin noticed his wife looking around with a puzzled expression, when he asked her what she was looking for she said " Where are they serving the soup? ". She hasn't lived it down since. Is she Irish?
mjw47
Is she Irish? She is indeed, and a highly intelligent woman under all normal circumstances, which of course makes it all the funnier for the rest of us.
sheffbag
Kids went with family friends to Killybegs in Donegal on west coast last year. Absolutely loved it there and it looked fantastic. http://www.killybegsonline.org/ link to town website
harvey19
If you visit N. Ireland pay a visit to the Crumlin Road goal. It is a museum now and we'll worth a visit

vwkittie
My mum and dad live in County Kerry so I can recommend a few things in that area. It's a beautiful part of the world with lots of lovely pubs, brilliant food and amazingly friendly people. - Glengarriff with a visit to Garinish Island and a walk in the Glengarriff Nature Reserve. - Kenmare, a lovely town - Killarney with a visit to Muckross House, Ross Castle and a walk in the National Park - If you were feeling fit you could climb Carrauntoohil, Ireland's tallest mountain! - Near Caherdaniel, there is the most wonderful beach called Derrynane - A boat trip over to the Skellig isles - Visit to the Dingle Peninsula, from Dingle itself you can get a boat ride out and see Fungi the dolphin, he will race alongside the boat and leap out of the water! - all of this and more could be encompassed with a trip around the Ring Of Kerry driving route My Parents live on the route, we will be over there this summer again, can't wait! Hope you have a brilliant time anyways, I'm sure you will!
