Was impressed by the barrel aged Barley Wine from Siren Craft Brew in Shakespeare's last night.

Looking forward to the Siren do at the Rutland tonight.

It looked like it was a good night - nice turnout too! I'll be at the Rutland tonight (drinking too!!) so I might catch you there.

Does anyone have a clue as to the beer line up at the Rutty? Last time the guy there was not happy having had the keg of Tickle Monster blow up on him. Hoping to see it there tonight. Tho a bit dangerous on a schoolnight...

At the Rutland I've been shown the list of Siren beers supplied to Reet Ale Pubs, however some of them are going to the Three Tuns and Closed Shop although the majority will be at the Rutland.

Three Tuns has the Seven Seas and Undercurrent.

“Beer is the most popular alcoholic drink on the planet, but very few people have any idea what it is made of. We all know that wine is made by fermenting pressed juice from grapes, and cider comes from pressing apples. But what about beer?

Beer is traditionally made from four natural ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast and water, and each of these has an incredible story to tell.”

Pete will share secrets and stories behind our nation’s favourite drink during the evening. Prepare to be taken on a journey across countries with a cast of characters who reveal the magic of beer; and celebrate the joy of drinking it. Good effort to everyone arranging Sheffield Beer Week. Tho the finish at Stans**t was never gonna get my attention. Seriously... when a brewery has to put UP it's price per firkin to sell to Wetherspoons you know there is something wrong!

Just thought I'd give a nod to the even that inspired it all though. Had a gret day at SIBA on Saturday. Spent 9 hours drinking good beer, watching the rugby and listening to great music - all for £6. I know there are those on here who objected to paying any entry fee but seriously - it was good value. Especially when you consider the bar was token and all the beers the same price, so I was drinking 6,7,8, even 10% beers all for £3 a pint. And I really think more support should be given. Otherwise there may not be a SIBA event to inspire a Sheffield Beer Week next year... Just a thought.

You missed out on a good do at Stancill, whilst there was a Stancill Brewery bar with a wide range of their beers the guest bar was where the excitement was - first pour of Sentinel's Anti IPA and Sheffield Bitter, there was also a launch of North Union's initial bottled beer range. Additionally there were guest beers from Abbeydale and Blue Bee plus live music and a BBQ.

Cheers for the lovely comments. We're really pleased with how Sheffield Beer Week panned out - especially as it was the first of its kind in Sheffield!

Fingers crossed there will be more to come...!

How about a festival fringe for the CAMRA beer festival in October?
