Wonder if anyone remembers a tanner hop called the Brinsworth Bop which was a hot spot in the very early 60's. It used to be open Mondays & Thursdays records only with bands on every Saturday. It was strictly a pop and crisps situation in a church hall right across from the old Canklow railway terminal and sheds. Lots of greatbands played there i.e.Vance Arnold, Pete Fender,Frankenstein, just to mention a few.It was a very popular place for music lovers who couldn't afford to go to pubs.
