Jeffrey Shaw
Perhaps some one will start a socialist party. Mind you it costs around £35,000 of your own money just to get selected for a seat , it looks as though proper socialists need not apply. How do you calculate that sum? The Parliamentary deposit is just £500. And there's no deposit required to stand for a Local authority Ward seat.
Alan Ladd
Why does David Cameron not want to have a TV debate with Ed Miliband? The Tories keep telling us that Miliband is useless so what's their problem? Why should Cameron give him any opportunity? Milliband is a dead duck, Cameron would be foolish to be seen with him as an equal, it may get him a sympathy vote.
SteveJ68
I'm not going to lower myself Alan Ladd, you're clearly deranged and I'd be foolish to expect you to engage in a rational debate. You have my sympathy, old age catches up with us all.

Cameron refusing a showdown with Ed Milliband, makes it look like he is scared of Ed. He probably isn't but is being advised badly that taking part is a bad idea. There isn't much difference, but what sets them apart is easily described by this Cameron = tax the poor (bedroom tax) Milliband = tax the rich (mansion tax). And there's no deposit required to stand for a Local authority Ward seat. I read an article in the Independent where it explained the costs that the main parties incurred in getting their PREFERRED :(candidate into an election. Perhaps your £500 man will be allowed to stand for one of the main parties ?
Jim117
I like the idea of the "none of the above" box. If it got the most votes then all parties should be required to bugger off and write some decent policies that joe public actually want. Might cut down on voter apathy too! Btw, whoever gets in can I suggest Guy Martin as minister for transport?
Mister M
I'm not going to lower myself Alan Ladd, you're clearly deranged and I'd be foolish to expect you to engage in a rational debate. You have my sympathy, old age catches up with us all. It's not so much that old age is the problem with 'Alan Ladd', (after all there are some older forummers on here who make good contributions); the problem with 'Alan Ladd' is that he's been on here before under multiple user names, but spouts the same nonsense. A classic wind up merchant. Best to ignore him, he'll skulk away soon enough.

SteveJ68
Thank you for the advice Mister M, I'll ignore him in future. I've been surprised by the number of Conservative/Ukip types on here! People think of Sheffield as being a left leaning City but that's certainly not reflected on Sheffield Forum.

Its not reflected because the Socialist republic of South Yorkshires representatives sold us down river when they entered Parliament they soon had their noses in the trough , Edited March 9, 2015 by cuttsie troff troff and troff.
