I won't sing God Save the Queen, says Morgan

Recommended Posts

Yes. In fact it is even more of a reason than we are due.

if he chooses to not sing the national anthem, that is up to him. he doesn't/shouldn't have to explain to anyone.

A part of life in the UK is that we are not forced to sing the national anthem. in my opinion that is something we should be proud of and should continue to keep it that way.

Yes, absolutely. I won't sing the national anthem either, as a republican atheist 'god save the queen' is a pretty silly sentiment in my book.

The (UK) national anthem shouldn't be sung anyway.

Debrett's is quite clear on this matter, and only a fearsome oik would think to sing it out loud.

I'm sure most footballers and rugby and cricket players all have a copy of Dubrett's to hand :hihi:

Then they should be roundly and continually clubbed over the head with a copy until the message hits home!

(In any case, outwith the WC, the England cricket team emerge to "Jerusalem", not GStQ)
