cherriepie
Does anyone else have this condition? I am neither a drinker or smoker but after devoloping pain in my right side a couple of years ago and numerous trips to my gp I was sent for a scan, and blood tests which were clear I was told I have fat deposits in my liver. There is no cure or magic potion. I was told to eat healthy and exercise which I do anyway! I am neither a drinker or obese! People don't know they have it because they don't develop any symptoms. What I want to know is does anyone else have this condition And how do you manage it?
medusa
Did the doctors tell you what stage your disease was at? This is really very common at the first stage, and isn't dangerous until you're advancing through the stages. As for whether you fit the criteria for getting it, I'm afraid that doesn't always apply. I got a cancer which only affects women over 40 who have had multiple children (and it's in their abdomen) when I was 26, childless and it appeared in my shoulder, and my sister got gall stones, which is officially all about eating too much animal fat for many years, but she started with it when she was a very thin, vegan teenager. cherriepie
No I've not been told anything of stages except to say people can have it and not know they have it. My liver function tests are normal so my gp isn't too concerned at the moment.
Janus
There`s a bit of info on Wiki that may be of some help. It mentions the condition is reversible. I wish you well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatty_liver
