L00b
Makes you wonder why your dog keeps getting attacked???? Have you rescued an abused and unsocialised 6 months old large-ish terrier? I have had many dogs, all of which have never been attacked or attacked other dogs! I must be doing something right..Have you done the right thing indeed in the rescue kennel, or just walked by as "too much baggage, let him have the needle"? Tool. PeteMorris
NO.... I obviously don't mean that at all and at no point did I even suggest it so im not sure where you are pulling this opinion from????? As I said before, and as I will continue to do so ALL aggressive dogs should be muzzled. It would stop such attacks in the first place wouldn't it?? DOH So my dog gets attacked, unprovoked and whilst on a leash, 7 times and yet my dog is the one supposed to be muzzled ? Cop on, why don't you I'm afraid I'm in L00b's camp on this one...He's stated his dog isn't aggressive, only when defending himself from other dogs....He's always on a leash....So why would he put his own non-aggressive dog in a muzzle, whereby he couldn't defend himself from being attacked? It's as daft as handcuffing everyone who goes out in the street in case they have occasion to defend themselves....

Yes pete but he also said his dog dishes out MOST of it when being attacked! which implies to me no control over the attacker or the attacked!! basically bad dogs! If you know how to really handle a dog, it will NEVER disobey. ---------- Post added 20-03-2015 at 11:44 ---------- Have you rescued an abused and unsocialised 6 months old large-ish terrier? No but I did rescue a 3yr German Sheppard that had been used a security dog and tied up outside in all weather.. He never ONCE growled, snarled, bit or provoked any form of attack and I always walked him off lead.

Perhaps he lives and walks his dog in an area where there is a prevalence of stupid dog owners who don't keep their dogs on a leash?

L00b
Yes pete but he also said his dog dishes out MOST of it when being attacked! which implies to me no control over the attacker or the attacked!!My dog is defending himself, and I allow him the full freedom of the length of leash (about 5 feet) to do so (I don't even let him free when he's defending himself). He's a patterdale-colley cross (we think, but mostly patterdale for sure). That makes it a big terrier (40lbs) with disproportionally big teeth, and there's no flab. If another dog starts it, he finishes it (and I'll always stop him once the other dog clearly retreats or cowers). But he never starts it. Ever. It's called traumatic psychological baggage (or whatever passes as such in canine behaviour), and takes a long time to train out, especially in hard-to-train terrier breeds like patterdales. Until, that is, the next idiot's unleashed dog attacks him and I've got to restart it all from just about scratch. The end. If you know how to really handle a dog, it will NEVER disobey.I'll be sure to mention that to the next owner whose offleash dog comes to attack ours. There's 7 who want a word with you already Edited March 20, 2015 by L00b

There's 7 who want a word with you already Precisely! they shouldn't be allowed dogs in the first place if they cant control them and that goes for anyone who can't control their dogs behaviour hence the reason that any aggressive dog should be muzzled because clearly we cant muzzle the owners can we!! Shame.. ---------- Post added 20-03-2015 at 12:01 ---------- Quit with the abusive comebacks it only paints you in a bad light.
