taxman
Would they have been sacked for buying something from Ebay? I wouldn't be sacked for buying something from Ebay, booking a holiday or using SF during lunch break. I would be sacked for looking at porn. As Cyclone says, there is an acceptable use policy. It comes up on my screen every morning when I log in. I have to tick to indicate I have read and understood it.

El Cid
As Cyclone says, there is an acceptable use policy. I cannot disagree with that; but it comes down to what the policy is. Looking at porn is not illegal, but if they did something illegal and kept their job, that would prove my case? An immigration judge who had an affair with his Brazilian cleaner will not lose his job for employing his lover illegally, the judicial watchdog has said. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/45357/Cleaner-scandal-judge-keeps-his-job
Tommo68
Its my understanding that for whatever reasons 2 of these judges sacked themselves for the alleged porn viewing. I imagine they sacked themselves to avoid all the fuss. it appears they were let down on that score. I assume someone who wanted to make a fuss informed the press. The third judge was sacked .. that is not something that happens overnight so all this is old news anyway. . .
Harleyman
Cannot use company computers for watching porn or anything else not related to company business. That's generally a rule in most places

What case are you trying to prove? That the British are prudish about sex, then no, it wouldn't. Although many, many other things would. ---------- Post added 21-03-2015 at 01:50 ---------- Cannot use company computers for watching porn or anything else not related to company business. El Cid
That the British are prudish about sex, then no, it wouldn't. I googled it, and this was the answer. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/11007686/Why-were-now-so-prudish-about-nudity.html So I am not sure why I am on my own about the Brits being prudish. Cyclone
I agree, we are. But this case doesn't prove it or even lend weight to it.

Maz3
I think we are prudish about discussing the 'nuts and bolts' of sex with young people, especially contraception. Which is why we have one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the developed world.
