Do the clocks go forward next week

Which makes no sense, they can get up as soon as it goes light, ignore what their bedside clock says.

We should stay on permanent BST, or adopt BST and BST+1

It means that we have evenings that go dark in the winter earlier than they need to, for the sake of making it light at 0700 when there are fewer people out of the house than there would be at 1700.

Light in mid winter at 0700 when on GMT? when was the last time you got up in mid winter at 7AM?

Although farming may have been a massive influence in the past on time changes, the main reason is to prevent school kids going to school in the dark hence why we go back to GMT.

Errr, Mon - Fri all the way through.

The argument about school children is not a good one. It ensures they go to school in the light, but it means they come home in the dark.
