Cyclone
Then we measure everyone and see if we think their children will be state dependants, and castrate them accordingly. This plan is getting better as we go along. I'm into this. Measure how? And at what point in their life?
Chris_Sleeps
Measure how? And at what point in their life? At birth. If they're born poor, or ethnic, or disabled, or jewish - we sterlisise. Geld the poor! Make the country great again.

What if the baby or the one of parents look a little odd, sterilise or not?

JFKvsNixon
Them too. Yeah. The ugly. I think most newborn babies look like Winston Churchill. So maybe we could have a photo of Winston Churchill in delivery rooms, and if the baby doesn't match up to the picture, their entire family should be sterilised. loraward
What type of people do you think could carry out the operations and look after the people afterwards? Car mechanics, landscape gardeners, painter and decorators or maybe you believe that they should use the unemployed? People that have the skills and training to carry out such an operation. ---------- Post added 01-04-2015 at 12:03 ---------- Unless you're also expecting the state to be prescient, it's impossible to know in advance how someone will behave. They know how someone as behaved in the past and how they are behaving in the present, this can be used to predict how they will behave in the future. The man in the OP as even told people how he intends to behave in the future, we can be sure that he will continue producing children that he is unwilling to care for. loraward
In a purely logical way you are right, however, thankfully we have to consider that the 'feckless' parent may well become a potentially better parent with education and support and once 'neutered' has minimal chance of conceiving again even with corrective surgery. This is purely an ethics ones, on the face of it, making some people infertile would be a sensible decision, until a) you are on the receiving end of it b) it starts being used a political cleansing tool. Once you allow this kind of thing once it will be manipulated by those in power. Just look at the internet being monitored day in day out because they can. I would rather be forcibly sterilized than have children forcibly removed from my care. ---------- Post added 01-04-2015 at 12:08 ---------- Given that this man has never had a child removed from his care, he doesn't meet the criteria that you set earlier. The link in the OP states that most of his kids are in the care system.
Cyclone
Not due to his parenting though, presumably due to the mothers. And of course for a 1st child it's impossible to look at previous behaviour.
