Derelict Hare And Hounds, Turnbull Pubs, Stannington

Hi, Does anyone know if the Hare and Hounds on Church Street has finally been demolished or is it still their , what do you recall of the pub and what was it like in its final years of trading? Another pub of interest is the Turnbull has that been cleared away or found a new use the last time I saw it the building was boarded up . IV not been to the Stannington area for quite sometime if the above pubs are still standing might consider photo'ing them do you still get the bus on Snig Hill opposite the Police station?

The turnbull is now a nursery/toddler group i think.Hare and hounds is/still boarded up i think yeah you catch the bus from outside argos/99p shop.

The "Hare and Hounds" still exists!......owned by a "pubco" of spivs no doubt.They have no interest in the local community,and all the Hare &Hounds plus adjacent land to them, is a land bank for the future housing development!(currently unavailable,but watch this space)

This site just like the "Crown&Glove"(100mtres away) will be valued on their books at a huge sum of money,so they can keep borrowing against the values to stay in business...............very much like the government is doing with the UK economy!

My brother ran the Hare and Hounds for many years Bob Wright
