What about "Journey Into Space" even the music was scary but Alfie Bass was in that as Lemmy and he had all the funny lines

Wasn't that the introduction to 'Children's Hour'?

 

 

No, that was Listen with Mother, just before Daphne Oxenford told the story. The pianist and sometime singer on that show was Violet Carson, later to become Ena Sharples in the early Coronation Street years.

 

 

Does anyone remember a male comedian introducing (it was his own voice of course) a little girl who said,very coyly, 'My name is Jennifer,". ? "They" would then go on to have a conversation. This wasn't children's radio but during one of the regular shows at that time.
