la_emme
In 2011 I have been falsely accused of a crime that I have not committed and have been remanded in jail for 21 days. I have applied for bail during that period however bail was refused by the Magistrates Court. My solicitor has requested a Judge in Chambers hearing and I was granted bail. Further investigations by my solicitor have revealed that I was set up (which I knew anyway). When I went to court the Judge was very unhappy with the Prosecution and the Police and told them that they just wasted taxpayers money. What can I do about all this. I spoke to probation previously but was told I can not do anything. Does anyone know if I actually can? Regards

He is trained in these matters and will give better advice than folk on here who aren't but imagine they are.
dutch
How did you get the solicitor? Was he recommended by the police? Or did you get him or her yourself.
Andy1976
How did you get the solicitor? Was he recommended by the police? Or did you get him or her yourself. The Police don't recommend Solicitors. The duty scheme is nothing to do with them. Just wanted to clear that up.

I had a solicitor then, but was advised that there is no point to challenge the Police
sgtkate
What are you trying to challenge the police for? Do you want compensation for wrongful imprisonment? I'm not having a go if you are, I'd want something if someone had locked me up for something I didn't do!
Owethemnowt
Free legal aid - 30 mns - solicitor. Remember: the butcher knows meat, the baker bread, candle stick maker may wax lyrical but if it isn't about something long and pointy that stands in the centre of the table usually around Xmas time - I'd ignore it. geared
Realistically you can only expect an outcome if it was the police who set you up. I seriously doubt it was, I imagine they were just doing their job. If it was some Joe Public who is a particularly nasty piece of work then you'd have to see if you could bring a civil case. So it's best to go over it with your solicitor, and see if he thinks there is a case to bring against either party.
Super Hans
All you can do is go through holes in the polices' evidence with your solicitor and or try and get a solicitor that specialises in your kind of case. Best of luck, I know there are many innocents currently in the justice system and I really hope you get what you deserve.

Yes there are currently 100's if not 1000's of people who are in the system doing time on remand simply because it is easier to lock someone up than actually investigate the case properly. Thank you all for your time and replies.
