johnnyeng
Is the term "plus size" offensive? Is it dangerous or healthy to promote a "big is beautiful attitude". Edited April 21, 2015 by johnnyeng
Berberis
Lets face it, the vast majority of people who are fat, are unhealthy. Yes other people are unhealthy in other ways too but that doesn't take away the fact. Being fat and unhealthy is a massive drain on the UKs health service resources. We need to address the overly sugary foods that are sold in our shops. Tax sugar like alcohol as it has a direct effect on the NHS.

cressida
I've just watched a C4 programme about plus size models, it would seem big girls/women are in vogue. A former market trader saw a gap in the market when his batch of plus size clothing kept selling out and he started up a new business which is now a rival to Evans fashion shops. Plus size models are in and one has been brought over from the States as a PR exercise.
Cyclone
Plus size isn't about promoting being fat or obese, it's about countering the media driven image of almost impossibly thin women being "the norm", as it's harmful and causes body image problems for countless women. Your right, its about promoting clothes for fat or obese people. You would be very naive to think it was purely a crusade against the skinny loving media.
