Minimal or hoarder

Recommended Posts

I've come across somthing called minimalism on the net

Got me thinking do we need all the stuff we have why do we want stuff what do we really need

Do we make our children collectors

Learned behaviour or instinct

Vanity greed or do we just not know better

Are you minimal or a hoarder point of descussion

Views tips etc etc

I am more of a hoarder, but I do have thoughts of living a basic life in a camper van, surely we could fit all we need into a van.

Not sure if I would have space for the lawn mower tho ;)

Right until the van breaks down, or something inside it breaks.

Then you need tools, and workspace and stuff, or you pay through the nose for someone else to fix it.

The minimalist look is great, I like it alot.

but it's not practical unless you intend to keep everything hidden from view.

It depends how you want to live, everything that we need is in town centres. Cheap meals, shower at sports centres, garage, hire shop; you would be saving loads of money in rent and taxes.

I wouldn't say I was a minimalist but I do like a tidy, clutter-free home and have regular clearouts. Unfortunately my OH is a hoarder, well he says he's a collector but I know different. At the moment there's an uneasy truce whereby I insist every time he buys something, something else has to go but even so the general level of stuff in the house creeps up :help:

What good is money if you live in the back of a skanky van???
