medusa Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 I take it that you have a huge safe of cash in your house that you wouldn't need access to a bank to reach and you also have full 'Doomsday prepped' your life? Without government it's very likely that within weeks we would be down to survival of the fittest based on who controls the water, food distribution and utlities, and who can afford to buy off them when they are no longer regulated by any laws at all. Local government is still government. If you would prefer a situation where local government had to increase tenfold in order to start regulating everything on a small scale that is currently managed on a large scale, in order to pass individual local laws to cover everything that is currently covered by national laws and to negotiate between adjacent (potentially disagreeing) local authorities, then that would be very likely to increase costs for pretty much everything and decrease efficiency of most things too.
