El Cid
I know that various councils fund the police force, on top of what they get from our taxes. I dont think its the councils role to fund the police, my local police station stays open for a few hours longer, because the local council give them £3,000 A friend of mine has had friendly visits from the police for complaints from councillors and facebook, anyone else had this? No offense was committed, so are we heading for dual funding of the police, and is that ok? Can anyone fund the police, who are they allowed to accept money from? geared
I think if there is a need to fund extra policing then it's ok for the police to take money to do it. Football clubs for example contribute some (but not enough) money for crowd control and stuff. I imagine big music venues might also, like festivals.
