Blades v Swindon

Recommended Posts

Still have no confidence in this team, and I don't trust them to put 3 games of winning football together,or even 3 not losing games. They've proved over a season that they are not up to what is required, don't learn from mistakes, and even hinted at a lack of hunger and desire.

We are looking here to manage a game,3 games, dictate them, show a willingness to impose ourselves and our style of play on opponents, eliminate mistakes, which will kill us if we don't,and generally raise our game to the level where we actually dominate our opponents and show a greater strength of mind, spirit and will to win.

Anything less than these things will see us get the same old up and down that we have witnessed all season............and then it will be down to who wants it most on the day,who is hungrier, and who is willing to step up to the plate and take the risks, show the personality to take a game by the throat and say..........this is ours.........who is going to do that for us?

And there you go...........summed up in a paragraph and confirmed in 90 minutes of football............we are going absolutely no where here...........still conceding set piece goals........that must be between 20/30 for the season now..........and the fault has to be laid right at Nigels door.

Not good enough after first 20 minutes.

Done our best player in second half, and he was a late sub...

Just hope we get a neutral ref next up, that clown hardly gave us a decision, which doesn't help when the team are struggling anyway.

Ive said about 3 times recently and said it earlier on here, youve been letting in too many goals and had to fight back, which has been working, but doesnt always.

Now you have to fight back in the second leg, but if swindon play anywhere near like they did in that second half im not sure you will

Haven't posted on here for ages but I think that Nigel is lacking big time in motivational skills.

How many games have they drew or lost after getting a lead ?

Oh well, there's always next season to try again. Didn't think they'd make it to the final this season.

I just can't understand why the tactic seems to be to score one and hope for the best.

Here's a clue:

"Nigel Clough said before the game that the most important thing was to avoid losing, but he will know how big any kind of lead could prove to be."
