Travelling to Spain passport query

Morning

I want to go to Spain with my son who is 17 he will go with my parents on the 18th of May and return with me on the 9th of June however his passport expires on the 17th of June.

Can he travel? Xx thanks

Trying to verify it I just can't find the info :/

As long as its in date for the return journey youre fine, Ive recently looked into it.

3 months is advised for EU travel. It IS only advise though.

I stand corrected then .i might be thinking of when I go to Russia that there needs to be a length of validity

There needs to be time remaining on your passport for most countries, but not those within the EU.

For many outside the EU 6 months is recommended.
