GOLDEN OLDIE
Although it seems that there were classes held by organisations like the League of Health and Beauty, I can't remember my mother doing any more to keep fit than housework and shopping. Does anyone remember early keep fit or fitness classes?

fatrajah
I seem to remember there was a series of keep-fit programmes on BBC TV in the mid 1950s. I think the programmes were hosted by Eileen Fowler. Edited May 10, 2015 by fatrajah
SILLY
There was keep fit classes in Sheffield my Mum played the piano for some. They were mostly held in schools in the evening. One that I can remember from early 50s was at Meynel road mid to late 50s Stradbroke community center and Beaver Hill school. I was a founder member of the ladies keep fit association in the early 60s. Edited May 10, 2015 by SILLY
