TJC1
perhaps he could take votes back from the Ukip, i think a lot of people voted Ukip just because there was not a better choice Maybe. I think a swing to the right or centre would be disastrous now. You can't out conservative the conservatives. I'd rather have a right wing party in power than a wishy washy centre party. ---------- Post added 29-07-2015 at 16:08 ---------- Anti trident frugality increase in tuition fees against anti foreign war renationalisation of energy and rail Corbyn strikes a chord on so many issues Edited July 29, 2015 by TJC1

drummonds
Labour are not Labour, in name only...would you call them Labour when they are very similar to the Tories? we are clearly witnessing a labour party on the point of disintegration. ---------- Post added 29-07-2015 at 17:22 ---------- This guy has it sussed, this is why the people need change... ah yes a car seat pundit. he must be mainstream. TJC1
high taxes on business and the rich, public ownership of the railways and essential utilities, strict regulation of markets, the abolition of tuition fees, a benign, non-interventionist foreign policy From the New statesman Sounds good to me, where do I sign up? For most unions its free to vote if affiliated, if not then you can sign up and pay £3 to vote... One word of caution, when voting, do not pick a second choice option, if its tied, they will count your second choice, so Pick Corbyn first, and leave second choice blank... http://www.labour.org.uk/blog/entry/how-to-vote-for-our-next-leader-and-deputy-leader
DrNorm
... i think its the start of a rebirth of the party, the party coming back to its roots Dream on! Politics isn't about following any "pure" path. Compromise is essential. The name of the game is finding common cause with as many people as possible. The Labour party didn't find common cause with enough voters and many defected to the tories - the "blue collar conservatives". Whereas I'd never vote tory, the Labour party will be in danger of losing my vote if they seek to find a niche position from which they attack the rest of society for personal advantage. I don't see Corbyn as the compromise candidate (although I respect his integrity). If the Labour party is going to stand any chance in 2020 then whoever is the next leader has a lot of bridge building to do. If the labour party can't bring themselves together, how are they going to bring the country together?
