rollwithit
It's more effective donating money to homeless charities rather than those on the street. Many cities have anti - begging campaigns advertising that fact. Even that's a rip off. Charities rely on the good will of their volunteers at ground level but pay silly corporate salaries at director level. So a large proportion of the funds collected does not go to the charity pot. birobasher
send them back where they came from Quite right, British cash for British beggars. ---------- Post added 24-05-2015 at 16:57 ---------- People are throwing about terms like 'Roma-looking' as if it proves anything apart from someone's existing prejudice. You don't know a thing about what brings people to beg on the street. You could ask them of course, but that would involve treating someone like a fellow human being. ---------- Post added 24-05-2015 at 17:04 ---------- Whilst we're getting exercised about people begging for spare change, millionaires and billionaires from overseas exploit our economy and UK non-doms behave like they're foreigners to dodge millions in income and corporation tax. Weirdly, that's not mentioned half as much.

zigzag
You should see how many beggers there are here ,with begging not being against the law in this country they are sat outside shops and shopping centres in most towns , even our local village shop has several shifts of beggers .In Stockholm they are like a plague ,most people are sick of them .It is clearly organised with turf disputes leading to violence becoming more common .Think yourselves lucky there is a law to prohibit begging even if the police do not have the resources to deal with it properly. Same here they have family buisnesses outside each supermarket where the wife does the morning shift with the baby and hubby afternoons with the dog. Tattooing a group of people to identify them - you know exactly what you're referring to. 'PC' is a phrase that means exactly what you want it to mean, in your case 'I'll generalise wildly about foreigners with no evidence but anecdote and rumour, then object loudly if challenged'. To me, what others call 'political correctness' is just the modern language of politeness. It's a language that includes people we used to think it acceptable to insult, stereotype and threaten based on race, skin colour, religion etc. No one race of people has crime as part of their DNA. You think British white folk don't go shoplifting in Sheffield? British crime for British scumbags!
