I lived in Greenhill for some years, before marriage breakdown, where it was all detached, or "link detached" (love that phrase, aka 'my neighbour's built an extension so close that the cat can't get down the side of the house'), pensioners and/or new money. The Holy Grail was (still is, I guess) membership of Abbeydale Golf Club. 2 or 3 cars per house. But then just over the hill you have LE. I think the catalyst is the pubs - the Whites Swan and Hart.
