Green68
It is sad about the pubs BIGLIL, but let's be honest - in the end, they were only places to meet up for a drug deal or a pint and a punch up. What we have planned for the Pheasant is safe, is in demand, is perfectly legal - yet cannot be undertaken by the supermarkets due to health and safety laws. Good luck with this blowfealt, I live on Elm Lane, and want to see the building survive, it`s at least 150 years old, and supposedly a grade 2 listed building. Any idea on the timescale for the councils decision?
kidneystone
The application to demolish the building has been refused because it would leave an unacceptable gap in the building form on a prominent corner site. What ever happens I hope the building stays. Edited July 14, 2015 by kidneystone

lottiecass
Afraid MH lorries are on the site and they only do demolition so it looks like the pheasant is doomed.
*_ash_*
Afraid MH lorries are on the site and they only do demolition so it looks like the pheasant is doomed. Shame if it goes. It's a nice building. Still, as people in here say like the council do - no use, demolish - and I suppose they're right, even though I disagree with them! No one is bothered about buildings. It'll be a new block of ugly flats no doubt.
sugartip
Noticed a bit of a crowd watching a bloke take that old lamp that hangs over the door earlier, he had a hi vis top on so not sure if there are workmen in the building.
Green68
I believe the building is to be developed & extended, not demolished. Parts are to be changed, It seems the chimney stacks are to go. Seems we will soon have another takeaway up there Kfc are taking part of the building, Costa coffee the rest. Geo-atkinson
I'm not sure why you think this is sad. It's a scruffy old building of no architectural merit on a prime site. Yeah, Much better it becomes another dirty greasy kebab house that will do wonders for the community. Enjoy your tin of beer..
