Were spoons stamped as early as this i do'nt know maybe someone locally would know .Any help will be appreciated.

Try asking the Hawley Collection, or ARCUS (the archaeological unit at the university). I don't know their e-mail off hand, but I do know that you should be able to find it through the Sheffield university website. Try putting Hawley Collection into the search option. (They're an independent museum specialising in tools and tools for making tools, as used in Sheffield during the industrial period. They should at least be able to tell you something about the company you mentioned) Good luck!

If Western Park Museum wasn't currently being erfurbished I'd suggest you try asking there.

This web site may lead you to someone to contact:

http://www.sheffieldgalleries.org.uk/

If that doesn't help maybe someone in the archaeology dept at Sheffield Univeristy maybe able to point you in the right direction. http://www.shef.ac.uk/uni/academic/A-C/ap/
