rinzwind
A pedo will never change and if he did I reckon 5 years on a tag would be justified I think a lifetime behind bars would be more appropriate. I just don't want people who played only a minor role in all this to stay quiet because they feel they will be lynched if they say anything. There are probably police and intelligence agents who have been keeping quiet all this time because of some misplaced sense of duty. There are almost certainly others who are keeping quiet because they are being blackmailed or threatened. These are the people that badly need to come forward while they still can. Anybody who blows the whistle on this should certainly be granted immunity from prosecution under the official secrets act. This proposal was suggested by Labour MP, John Mann. It was defeated in the house of commons 295 to 233. In case anyone is wondering, here are the 295 MP's who rejected that particular suggestion. cassity
A pedo will never change and if he did I reckon 5 years on a tag would be justified Paedophilia as a topic of discussion is an interesting subject. The pity with forum discussion is it usually doesn't get beyond "string em up" which to a point is understandable considering the overall impact the crime has on society. Ironically most of the crime is committed by family which makes it even more taboo to discuss..much easier to go for the Independent, or lone wolf. It's an ancient crime that's been swept under the carpet for centuries which makes it much easier to operate from the perps perspective. Thankfully with the advent of social media and pressure it's all changing. Edited October 25, 2015 by cassity

ricgem2002
Interesting that out of the 295 who voted against, 254 were Conservative MPs... whats interesting is why they voted against it ? I bet if this went to a public vote you would see it reversed

One might suggest that 122 missing votes out of 650 indicates this wasn't some important issue. Edited October 25, 2015 by exxon

David Cameron suggested (and announced on the mainstream media) that anyone with information on the VIP child abuse scandal, should come forward and they would be granted immunity from the Official Secrets Act. Much of the covering up of information, seizure of documents, dawn raids, threats etc. has been invoked in the name of the Official Secrets Act. As Rinzwind explained, these are the MPs that voted against David Cameron's proposal. Edited October 25, 2015 by Anna B
