RabM
Little bottles of adrenalin/epinephrine from the chemist. Nothing like it for a shaving cut to stop the bleeding. Popular with boxers. Also apparently useful to make illegal drugs. Shame, styptic pencils just don't work as well.

feargal
Anyone remember Nux bars? They came out in the late 1950s & were similar to Picnic bars. My dad still refers to ALL chocolate bars as Nux bars, regardless of actual name! I think you can still buy them abroad... I bought him some back from a European trip a few years back. As a child, any cut or scrape would be treated by an application of Zambuk, or "magic cream" as it was known in our house... the smell was heavenly! fatrajah
Bottle-conditioned Guiness was phased out about 20 years ago. The stuff they sell nowadays is much inferior.
