tzijlstra
Crikey, that is sudden. The LibDems will miss him at a time of need.
Halibut
That's sad. He always seemed like quite a likeable bloke. I know he had major struggles with booze; I wonder if that's what killed him?

JFKvsNixon
Four weeks after losing your career, that was my first thought to be honest. I think that he'd been in the House of Commons for 30 years. Surely he was due a seat in the House of Lords.
Vegas1
This is worth a read, regardless what you think of the man: http://www.alastaircampbell.org/blog/2015/06/02/charles-kennedy-a-lovely-man-a-talented-politician-a-great-friend-with-a-shared-enemy/

No, I think it was widely known he had a drink problem. I did have a bad feeling about him when he lost his seat, that it might knock him back, so to speak. Its a shame, he was too young to die. I always quite liked Charles Kennedy for some reason. Hope he RIP.
ANGELFIRE1
He came over on telly as a quite decent bloke, which cannot be said of many MP's. It's well known he was fighting the demon drink, on top of this, getting ousted from his position as an MP might have been the last straw for him. No matter how he passed, RIP Charles. Angel1.
