El Cid
The Governments final stake in Royal Mail is to be sold off. Does that mean that the Government should end the universal service? Why should a remote farm get mail at the same price as people living in a city? I have shares in Royal Mail, so perhaps now is a good time to sell them, I missed my chance after the initial rise. Anna B
Another state owned, world renowned company sold off. Who gets the money? And how does the country benefit from it?

Its being sold to the big boys, small investors will not get a look in. That is the Tories for you, it was a nice little gift, good old Vince Cable. sgtkate
So another means to earn money for the country long term is sold off. Honestly, it's like selling your house rather than renting it out to make you money long term.

However, no shares will be reserved for employees - who received 10% last time. http://news.sky.com/story/1496340/taxpayers-stake-in-royal-mail-to-be-sold
esme
People will buy shares because they believe they can make money out of it Why does the Government not believe it can make money by keeping it ? Or is this just going to be an asset stripping exercise ?
Anna B
The universal system will probably fall apart now the government has lost control. How long before it is split up, or sold into foreign hands? Another case of selling off the family silver. And we will never be able to buy it back. Sheme on this government.
