blake
that says a lot more about the people that are the customers of the petrol station rather than the popularity of Private Eye. Private Eye is one of the very few circulation success stories of the past 10-15 years. While nearly all newspapers and magazines have experienced sharp dips in circulation and advertising revenue, Private Eye's is not only just holding up, but usually increasing. Private Eye sells more than what the Guardian, which is losing readers fast, sells. Private Eye's circulation is quite volatile and often literally depends upon how good or not the cover is whether it does well, but it is usually somewhere between 200,000 and 250,000 per issue. Nobody else does what Private Eye does however nobody is going to set up a rival to compete against it. It looks like they are home and dry frankly. They are a capitalist success story. horribleblob
I've been reading it for more years than I care to remember. I used to buy every issue but nowadays only when I feel complacency setting in and I need a kick in the pants.

Jeffrey Shaw
I too have subscribed for years, you get the real news months before the rest of the press mention it. Yes, it often breaks news stories ahead of the pack.
