mr_blue_owl
Wasnt there a report of a tornado at that time? I was told that a funfair was destroyed by it in Parson Cross. I lived on Wordsworth Ave at the top of the hill in those opposite St Paul's. Each garden had an 'outhouse' with an asbestos roof. The gale lifted the roof off next the next door neighbour's house which then sailed gracefully through the air and crashed through the bedroom window of the house next-door-but-one to us. There was a funfair used to set up just down the road on the corner of Remington and Wordsworth, could have been that one - too long ago to remember. Many years later I used to love Typhoon Parties in the Hong Kong Hotel bar, watching the harbour being lashed by gales over a cold beer
