Cyclone
Mine are: 4) All holiday destinations to be made to charge the same prices all year round, regardless of school holidays. No more hiking prices up during half terms etc. That's the most stupid one I ever heard.
Bottletop
That's the most stupid one I ever heard. Love your opinions Cyclone always good for a laugh, impressive total of posts you have there too. What happens to the wooden spoon when you sleep? - Or is it automated these days...
Cyclone
Come on, you have to admit it's entirely ludicrous. I mean, you understand that at times that demand increases all the constituent parts that make up a holiday go up in price as well. Airlines charge more. Foreign hotels and resorts charge more. Coach companies charge more. If it were somehow to be enacted your suggestion would send holiday package and tour operators out of business in a year. More likely that they'd just charge school holiday prices all year round so nobody would benefit
L00b
(1) criminalise stupidity, punishable by varying number of hours in stocks on public plazas. (2) criminalise social media trolling (namely, the endorsement and proliferation of defaming accusations or misrepresentations without objectivity), likewise punishable by varying number of hours in stocks on public plazas. (3) nationalised commercialisation of (HD) CCTV feeds for (1) and (2). 6 months of it, and that will be the UK cured of both the social media scourge and stupid people, and books at No.11 Downing Street in the black

People would just book all the bits independently, or book with a foreign tour operator.

Eater Sundae
If You Could Implement 3 Laws that would make the UK or Sheffield a better place for society, what would they be? I think there are probably 100's of new simple laws that could be brought in to make life a little better. I'll get you started with these simple 3... All baby/wet wipes should be flushable There should be a 5p tax on chewing gum to help councils clean the streets Compulsory Theory test for under 125cc scooter/motorcycle riders Re wet wipes. IMO, the water companies should come up with a new set of standards to ensure that the wipes break down into small pieces within a small amount of agitation, much like toilet paper does, and issue a certification when a product meets the specification. Companies who wish for their product to be accredited would submit (and pay) for testing, in order to be allowed to show the accreditation on their packaging. The water companies may even be able to turn a profit on this. The standard should be as required by the water companies, to meet their needs in minimizing blockage, and not some notional standard created by the manufacturers. ---------- Post added 08-06-2015 at 16:14 ---------- Mine are: 1) Create a law stating all cars are to drive with lights OFF during the daylight hours, instead of these ridiculous LED daytime lights etc... 2) All long term unemployed peeps to be moved to closed 'communes' where they can be closely monitored and given training in areas of work that suit their abilities. Once they have a job and back on their feet, they can move back into normal society. (This would include behavioural tutoring too if required). 3) All current bank holidays to be cancelled (apart from Xmas) and instead short notice bank holidays will be decided upon during the summer when long weekends of hot sunshine are forecast, thereby guaranteeing good weather during bank holiday weekends! Oh, and just in case I win the bonus law no. 4.... 4) All holiday destinations to be made to charge the same prices all year round, regardless of school holidays. No more hiking prices up during half terms etc. Re bib ...and all holidays to increase in price by about several hundred percent so that the providers can make their profit over the 8 or 9 week period that anyone wants to holiday. What would happen to the holiday destinations for the remaining weeks when children are at school and nobody wants to holiday? Maybe reduce the price... ...much like they do now. Make buses free (or a very small nominal payment) at the point of use and fund them out of general taxation. Congestion would reduce dramatically, improving air quality and making driving much easier. I'll think of others.
