Why does anyone want to remain in the EU?

A minority of the population clearly benefit from membership, the majority don't and want to leave it or change it, like any marriage some people are brave enough to take the plunge and leave it, others always think it will get better and for some its just an habit they can't break.

The majority don't benefit? I think that remains to be seen. When the cardhouse comes crashing down it is the majority that will feel the loss of the EU benefits. But good job in avoiding answering the valid points made before and making it appear as if the remain camp has no argument.

Odds in favour of Bremain slightly worse today 1/6 from 1/7

Backing Brexit is still like backing a Austin Allegro against a Maserati though.

Yes but the Allegro was British.

And first produced in 1973 which is where the Brexiters want to take us back to. The Allegro is considered by some to be the worst British car ever made.

Back it if you want.

If we stay

No border control (Turkey)

No nhs (TTIP)

An EU Military

Loss of democracy

First point: wrong

Second point: wrong plus it is the UK pushing this thing along without consultation in the first place.

Third point: what is bad about that? There is also nothing to suggest the UK would be part of that in the first place.

Fourth point: loss of democracy? What will the UK lose in terms of democracy?

The fact that we are likely to stay in doesn't change the fact that most British people don't benefit from membership and a significant number of people voting in know this, they don't like the EU but think it will get better, or they don't like the EU but fear leaving it. A bit like the failed marriage in which they stay together because they fear divorce.

Remaining in the lethargy of an unhappy marriage dulled by the absence of a more hopeful vision can be downright depressing but, so many people resign themselves to such lives.

Yes there was a biased news night special on last night, hammering a further nail in the Brexit coffin....I told you it was fixed, it's no secret.
