rudds1
Any ideas what could cause this to come on? I've never heard of a warning light for toxic fumes on a car
geared
is it a diesel or a petrol, you really need to rear the car manual before posting stuff up. You have no idea what that light means and the rest of us can only guess.
Jillybabes
It's petrol and I did look at the manual and the symbol says toxic fumes warning light and I don't know what it means that's why I was asking if anyone knew!!
AMR67
Lambda sensor or possibly EGR valve??? - sounds like something to do with emissions.
Jillybabes
Thank you AMR67, hope it doesn't cost a lot to fix.
rudds1
Sounds More like engine management light is on ,get it on a code reader and see what it comes back with
Jillybabes
Well whatever it was it seems to have sorted itself out after a good run today, thanks anyway.
AMR67
Probably just a bit clogged up then and needed a good run to clear it.

A quick flick on Google says that does happen, and a good blast is needed to clear it out. You might be getting some carbon buildup inside the engine which could cause it to happen more often, so keep an eye on it.
