Timeh
Ive just had a call from a friend who last month got new neighbours. They seemed ok but almost right away the problems started. Shouting, swearing, kids going into other peoples property. They also park their car/cars on the public footpath despite having a long drive and a big garage. They sometimes have 2 cars parked full on the path but now they have a bloody great big van there too. Its massive and almost blocks the whole path. Can anything be done about this? They park on double yellows too when they are parked on the path. Well one of their cars is with the others not strictly on DY's but still with all 4 wheels on the path. Any advice would be welcomed
Cyclone
The council are responsible for parking infringements. Report it and ask that a traffic warden be sent down the street. Being on the path doesn't get around the DY, they apply to the entire road including the pavement.

plantas_Vzla
Have you tried talking to them? perhaps going there with a group of neighbours. Of course, reporting would be a better idea... could be worst, I guess, they don't like loud music for what you mention
WiseOwl182
You, sorry your "friend', should also bear in mind that any official complaints or any disputes will later need to be declared should they later choose to escape and sell up.
cressida
Could he contact the previous owners and ask them to have a word - before making an official complaint of course;)

I passed on what you said and they rang 101, the police are going to be paying a visit in the not too distant future to look at the obstruction part of the complaint. Apparently they were very sympathetic and promised to not only go and take a look but keep an eye on the house and look for any obstructions in the future. Oh and im off to buy a highway code book because even though im a licensed driver and have been for some years i didnt know that DLs covered up to the edge of the path too lol ---------- Post added 26-06-2015 at 09:33 ---------- Could he contact the previous owners and ask them to have a word - before making an official complaint of course;) Ive mentioned this as a possibility but its a private rent. He says the previous couple were good neighbours who used the drive to park their car on and kept the outside of the house clean and their kids were incredibly well behaved. Its amazing how in just a few days someone can go from having good neighbours to neighbours from hell. Anyway theres a chance that the previous neighbours kids still go to the local school so i suggested they go and wait for them and ask for the landlords details so fingers crossed! ---------- Post added 26-06-2015 at 09:34 ---------- You, sorry your "friend', should also bear in mind that any official complaints or any disputes will later need to be declared should they later choose to escape and sell up. Love the " " Its a private rent mate ---------- Post added 26-06-2015 at 09:37 ---------- Have you tried talking to them? perhaps going there with a group of neighbours. Mr friends on crutches at the moment so isnt too stable on his feet but this guy seemed to think barging him out of the gate was a good way to respond. ---------- Post added 26-06-2015 at 09:38 ---------- I feel sorry for your friend, can be a right problem. Thank you for that. Yeah it can be rough especially when they know their noise and behaviour has an effect on people but just dont give a damn.
