Cd player problem with VW Polo

Hello,

 

I inserted a cd into my car's cd player today (its a small VW) and it came up with an error message stating 'no data' and 'error' however it won't allow me to eject the cd as nothing seems to now work on the unit, the radio still works ok but not the cd player bit and my cd is now stuck in the player.

 

Its one of those all in one units that comes with cars these days and the unit can be removed from the centre consol. Needless to say VW want a HUGE amount of money just to remove the unit and that's without doing anything else..

 

Does anyone know where I can get the 4 prong like things cheap so I can remove the unit myself and does anyone know how much the units cost to replace please, I'm ok with used. New ones from VW start at £399 + vat!
