Anybody fancy a laugh?

Actually it's not remotely amusing, but that was my first reaction when I read that next month there is to be a charity conference, organised by various homeless charities and local authorities, which will be held at a four star hotel with ticket prices as high as £715!

'Under One Roof', the name of the umbrella body organising this little soiree tells delegates attending that at the hotel, the Hinckley Island Hotel:

"Delegates staying overnight are also entitled to complimentary use of the leisure club facilities, which include a heated indoor swimming pool, fully equipped gym, sauna, spa, steam room and solarium.”

It will not be front line homelessness workers attending this event of course (or the homeless themselves), but middle managers, ‘professionals’ and charity bosses – the kind of people who could afford to pay for their own hotel.

Gives a new meaning to the word Cheeky beggars!

Anyway - will find a link to the little soiree. Oh yes here we are: http://www.homeless.org.uk/events/under-one-roof

Lol apparently one oft he programme highlights is "How to maintain staff moral in the face of increasing pressures". Yes I bet the morale of staff working in the front line will be increased no end when they hear about the luxurious conferences their poor Executives have to endure

It's almost as ironic as The Star yesterday with the big 'scoop' on the thousands of pounds local schools are paying to those who 'sue' them, whilst having an advert underneath the article on the front page that was about half the size of the article itself, for....guess what?

Yes, you guessed it - no win no fee compensation solicitor firm.:hihi:
