Am I still allowed to question climate change?

Recommended Posts

It's interesting isn't it how the pro global warming lobby are quite happy to accept without question the opinions of any scientist who agrees with their blinkered views yet when experts produce evidence that probes global warming isn't happened they get disgracefully smeared with lurid and unfounded allegations of corruption and bribery.

If you can't argue with the facts then making up lies about the expert providing them just shows up how weak your argument is. The likes of Wildcat should be ashamed.

What are you on about?

What evidence is there that global warming isn't happening? So far as I am aware there have been two papers both of which have been refuted the one on Cosmic radiation by the simple fact that the Solar energy output measurements don't show any increase, and the other paper had a flawed methodology that the authors have accepted came to the wrong conclusions.

Oh right you won't like this then..

Except what they are admitting to is deleting data they used in calculations that was acquired from and held elsewhere. The data has not been lost it is still obtainable from the original sources. It is as I said before simply a matter of housekeeping.

Rubbish.. the original data has gone..the report says..

"Scientists at the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit have admitted that they threw away much of the raw temperature data used in their predictions of global warming. The result of that action is that other scientists will not be able to verify the CRU calculations that they say show a rise in the Earth's average temperature over the past 150 years..."

If it still exists then how would this stop other scientists from obtaining it..?

It wouldn't, they can ask the Weather Stations that hold the data for it.

You don't believe everything you read in the papers, why believe this journalist when his argument is clearly inconsistent with the facts?

No-one can see the original data that the CRU used,no-one knows what went into their calcs before they "amended" it..therefore no-one can reproduce the results the CRU got....you don't get it do you?

More opinions

From the Times..."SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation....

In a statement on its website, the CRU said: “We do not hold the original raw data but only the value-added (quality controlled and homogenised) data.”

The CRU is the world’s leading centre for reconstructing past climate and temperatures. Climate change sceptics have long been keen to examine exactly how its data were compiled. That is now impossible.

Roger Pielke, professor of environmental studies at Colorado University, discovered data had been lost when he asked for original records. “The CRU is basically saying, ‘Trust us’. So much for settling questions and resolving debates with science,” he said...."

A Phil Jones quote

"...Even if WMO agrees, I will still not pass on the data. We have 25 or so years invested in the work. Why should I make the data available to you, when your aim is to try and find something wrong with it...."

Surely that's the whole point of peer review?
