daneha
We are living in the hottest decade, and May was the hottest month on record. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/jun/24/may-was-hottest-on-earth-since-records-began That might account for this. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-27330321 Melting at one of the largest ice caps on Earth has produced a big jump in its flow speed, satellite imagery suggests, it's clear it has speeded up quite considerably in the last two or three years. It is now flowing at least 10 times faster than previously measured." A recent study by researchers at NASA and the University of California, Irvine, has found that a section of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet is melting at an alarming rate and could raise global sea levels by up to four feet. Meanwhile, the Arctic is also showing the strain of global warming, with an ice-free Arctic summer predicted by 2016, according to research by the U.S. Navy. This research comes as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that April 2014 ranked as the hottest April on record, tying with April 2010. It also follows the recent release of the National Climate Assessment that says that signs of climate change are all around us.

Jeffrey Shaw
maybe we will have hot summers and cold winters with extreme downpours of rain in-between Coo; whoever would imagine variable weather such as "sunshine and showers"?

nev1990
2014 set to be warmest year on record, so a little more evidence that our climate is warming.
Anna B
It's awful, but highly relevent, that no one knows who to trust any more. Statistics are misinterpreted, evidence disputed, and findings subject to bias, and dependent on who they were commisioned by. When we live in a world where powerful people feel free to lie with impunity and the truth is no longer a reliable or valued commodity, is it any wonder that the world is going to hell in a handcart while we all argue the toss.
