Cyclone
180 pages?! No thanks, I'd rather not read the whole thread, thanks. What have scientists got to gain by concluding that man made climate change is real? Compare that to what some scientists and other critics have got to gain, or lose by concluding that we are accelerating the effects of climate change. Some of them have ongoing funding to gain. ---------- Post added 12-12-2014 at 11:08 ---------- As governments see man-made climate change as a cash cow, I wonder what would happen to anyone's funding who proved, and published, that it was a falsehood? Fortunately most science is beyond the direct manipulation of politicians, unless you're going for some really involved conspiracy theories. Mikes10
For those people who's brain begins to hurt when reading the conflicting arguments of climate change why not look at the glacier evidence, here is one such site, alternatively enter 'Climate change Glacier evidence' or something similar into your favourite search engine: http://www.nps.gov/olym/naturescience/glaciers.htm

I don't think anyone has claimed global warming is uniform.

Then how can you put it down to global warming, a bit like saying the living room is hot but the whole house is cold.
El Cid
As governments see man-made climate change as a cash cow, I wonder what would happen to anyone's funding who proved, and published, that it was a falsehood? Green taxes add up to less than 3% of total Government taxes, so the big deal about Green taxes is just a tabloid headline.

No - like saying the whole house is warming up apart from the attic. But the earths weather systems are far more complex than a house - warming isn't happening in a uniform manner. Have you been up in the attic for the last 18 years, "Scientists balk at ‘hottest year’ claims: Ignores Satellites showing 18 Year ‘Pause’ – ‘We are arguing over the significance of hundredths of a degree’ – The ‘Pause’ continues" http://www.climatedepot.com/2015/01/16/scientists-balk-at-hottest-year-claims-we-are-arguing-over-the-significance-of-hundredths-of-a-degree-the-pause-continues/
