geared
You say why not, I say why? I know someone who's currently serving, they're in charge of the gate at an airbase somewhere in Oxfordshire. Sure they're serving in the armed forces, but it's hardly life and limb stuff.
alchresearch
What about ordinary people who've got OBEs and MBEs? They've "served their country" too.
RonJeremy
What about people who work in McDonalds they serve people in this country. And the people outside - they also serve, who only stand and wait. (with apologies to Milton)
francypants
What about members of the police force ? after all they are serving their country too. A daft idea in the first place.
phoenixboy
The BBC are funding TV licenses for the over 75s, why not all the people that have served in the armed forces? Should Sky customers pay for free Sky for the over 75s? Are they getting free TV because their pensions are so meager, why do they get certain things for free? if armed forces why not nurses? if nurses why not police? iansheff
As part of the BBC paying for this Georgie boy is allowing them to put the licence fee up in line with inflation every year from 2017, I also read that the free licences for over 75s will be reviewed in 2020
Happ Hazzard
Well I won't be paying for the BBC ever again. Don't watch it, don't listen to it, don't see I should have to pay for the exorbitant wages of Evans, Moyles, Norton etc. They don't provide any public service whatsoever.
