slickwitch
Tracy Ullman in Grand Central Station. They wouldn't let her in the bar on Valentines day. She was quite unreserved in her response. Also sat behind a man in The Palace Hotel in Madrid and said to my husband. "There's someone famous at that table. I think he might be in Coronation Street or something". My husband looked and said "Silly bird. you do know it's Bruce Springsteen?"
Merry_Legs
I met the Duchess of Kent. I had to explain how kidneys produce urine (with the help of a video rather than performance art...)

mifsit
I saw the Queen once, does that count? I met and talked to Jim Marshall, of Marshall amps fame. Also met her who did that God awful "saturday night" song in the 90's while working in a nightclub, though I forget her name.
Psyber
I'm not sure, a bit of a mixed bag, and I may not have noticed. I've met a few Politicians in OZ, and have met a few muso's but as I'm not into pop/rock I never remember who they were. I do remember I danced briefly at a rehearsal with Arriette Taylor who was an internationally known ballerina, when she was teaching in Adelaide. It happened because I was handy when she needed a guy to act as a prop at a class, not because I have trained. [i was picking up my then girlfriend who was training.] I knew Paul Davies, a Physicist, considered second only to Stephen Hawking in his field, but barely known outside it, but I recognised him. Fame depends on who is looking.
