I've met:

Prince Phillip - held a door open for him (he didn't even acknowledge me) :(

The late Marti Cain - I used to work with her best friend

The late Long John Baldry - absolutely lovely guy, such a loss - had breakfast with him - my other half was the sound engineer for him when he did a gig at one of the Warner's sites.

Midge Ure - used our sound equipment

Paul Jones (awful bloke) - also used our sound equipment

The late Jack Douglas - met him at a friend's 50th birthday party

Bruce Forsyth - twice at Sheffield Fiesta (going back a few year's now!)

Paul Hudson (the weatherman!) - Outside Greggs in Barnsley

I used to get baby sat by Dame Joan Sutherland when I was a kid and my mother dragged me to Sydney Opera House when she had a performance (she was in the chorus) of an evening and there was no-one to look after me at home. I'd sit in the green room and Joanie would come down at interval and talk to me.

I also met Gogh Whitlam (the PM of Oz who got sacked by the Queen) when he came to an archaeology lecture I was attending.

Can't think of anyone else unless you count giving the 5 year old son of the Ruler of Ras al Khaimah a lesson on how to use a .22 rifle. Actually I shouldn't have done it, but one of the instructors was busy so they turned to me and said 'watch him, make sure he doesn't shoot anyone or his foot'. Nice :D
