carltoncdx
They are automatically adjusted as you drive BUT the adjuster needs to be removed periodically and cleaned and greased otherwise they seize up and reduce the handbrake efficancy. Any good garage should be able to do it if you cant.

code word
Going for its retest tomorrow and parking brake is only working 15% on passager side been told that the handbrake is automatic adjust if so how please Keep pulling the handbrake up and down. Make sure you hear the ratchet. Don’t hold that silly button in. Pull handbrake up as hard as you can. Press the silly button to lower the hand brake … Keep repeating. When you get to the point when lifting the handbrake you hear about 4 /6 clicks that’s bang on. ---------- Post added 10-07-2015 at 02:03 ---------- Visualise the letter >> Y << Imagine the V shape part goes to each wheel. The handbrake is attached to the single >> I << part of the cable. If one side is looser than the other the disc on that side is worn more than the other… Can happen!! Honestly if you look under your car and see how simple it is you would never get in a car again. To simplify. Think of a guitar string. One string goes from handbrake to a nut. From that nut you have two strings going to each wheel. It looks like the letter >> Y << . If one side of the Y sags more than the other it is not cable stretch it is pad/ disc deterioration. The simple answer is this. If they mention disk, Worn, pitted or scored. On one side that would account for the problem. ---------- Post added 10-07-2015 at 02:13 ---------- When you drive turn the music off. And listen…. Turning corners, braking, you will almost certainly hear a sound from one side of the car ---------- Post added 10-07-2015 at 02:25 ---------- You may get this. brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened. borderline excessive rear brake fluctuating but not excessively. ---------- Post added 10-07-2015 at 02:26 ---------- It is all silly. should pass. If they need money it wont simple. ---------- Post added 10-07-2015 at 02:31 ---------- Look under car and make sure the cable has not snapped on one side.
