I wondered if anyone knows where you can get handles to make plates into cake stands in Sheffield they have them on eBay but will take too long ,thanks

Have you tried doing an advanced search on ebay and narrowing it down to a 5 mile radius?

Interesting... I didn't know anyone could drill through the plates to make them. Is it difficult?

We recently went to a wedding where they had made around 50 cake stands from plates bought from charity shops. Every guest had their own with sandwiches as well as cakes on and got to take them home at the end of the day.

I'll find out where they got all the metalwork from. and get back to you.

 

PS - apparently they were bought off ebay and weren't very expensive.

I'm told that it can be tricky so it's a good idea to have spare plates.

Apparently it's advisable to get a special bit for your drill.
