Runningman
Blackbird in the sun lies down flat with the ground with wings spread out as though basking in the sun. Stays like that for a few mins. sometimes pecking at may be insects in it's feathers. What's that all about ?

horribleblob
The heat encourages plumage parasites to move, thus making them easier for the bird to pick off.
