Why do so many of you hate the poor?

Recommended Posts

As title, I understand (do not condone) the resentment and hatred towards other insular advanced cultures such as Islam, but do not understand why so many folk here from the 'Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire' hates its poor?

No one hates the poor and the genuinely disadvantaged. Its the Jeremy Kyle generation people have a problem with. People on benefits with no desire to work or contribute to society.

Take White Dee off benefit street for example. She was apparently "depressed" and cannot work. Yet she still made a TV career for herself and went to get trollied in Spain. Yet couldnt do a days work.

Not 'countless'.

Go and count them and learn that any posts showing hatred of 'the poor' are an extremely small proportion of the total content of this forum.

What other General Discussion forums are you a members of?

This Sheffield / General forum is inundated with members attacking any benefit claimants / the poor / / disabled / vulnerable and low paid etc. Only a hard few regulars defending them.

No I cannot.

Whites who are able to work should do.

Is that racist too?

Christians who are able to work should do.

Is that christianaphobic?

People who dye their hair orange who are able to work should do.

Is that orangist?

People who are able to work should do.

Are you too suggesting a hatred of poor people in that statement?

Yes because as I explained in the post before, in this thread context it was a false derogatory comment aimed at <insert group / race / hair colour here> to insinuate all / majority have no intention of working.

But these TV shows demonise the poor to portray all benefit claimants as fiddling scroungers which often does lead to hatred.

It's good to know that you and hali agree about this. It shows how narrow minded people can be.

But it's not just TVs fault if the likes of "depressed" white dee and the Jeremy Kyle lot actually got off their rear ends and worked or at least tried to there would be no material.

The fact that Jeremy Kyle has been going for 10 years says there is a problem.

Who / what is hali? Its narrow minded to caricature the poor as lazy benefit scroungers.

Just rereading this thread. It is comical how people put words into posts that aren't there and when challenged, scurry away and ignore the thread. It is disingenuous and foolish.

As I've already explained, yours and others comments are always crafted to demonise and stereotype a certain demographic.

No it isn't.

As I advised earlier ... go and do some counting.

Yes it is, aside a hardcore few regular defenders the poor on this forum are always demonised, stereotyped as scroungers and portrayed negatively.

They deliberately target folk who they can manipulate to portray the poor in the most negative light possible. So of course these TV shows play in part in propagandising the poor negatively.

Yes they target the poor that are scroungers true. However these people have to exist in the first place surely. They cannot make everything up otherwise Jeremy Kyle wouldnt have gone on for as long as it has.

So just because they are a small group who cannot be bothered to do any work doesnt mean we dont deal with them.

Also I've seen people like "depressed" White Dee. You only need to go past the downstairs of the Bankers Draft or some of the pubs on the Wicker to see the Jeremy Kyle type guests getting tanked. They are all around. If the media had made it up people would not believe the media. There has to be some truth in it.

Have I missed something? Is there a rule somewhere that says the depressed aren't allowed to get ******?
