Why do so many of you hate the poor?

Recommended Posts

Yes they target the poor that are scroungers true. However these people have to exist in the first place surely. They cannot make everything up otherwise Jeremy Kyle wouldnt have gone on for as long as it has.

So just because they are a small group who cannot be bothered to do any work doesnt mean we dont deal with them.

Also I've seen people like "depressed" White Dee. You only need to go past the downstairs of the Bankers Draft or some of the pubs on the Wicker to see the Jeremy Kyle type guests getting tanked. They are all around. If the media had made it up people would not believe the media. There has to be some truth in it.

Or the pubs on West Street where you get people who are supposed to be upwardly mobile acting in just the way the poor people in the Bankers or Wicker act [some times the behaviour is a lot worse ,note the police presence on a Friday or Saturday night].

As to the big brave Jerry Kiyle ,on the very rare occasions that I have watched that programme I have found my self wishing one of the poor people in the stocks would lamp him

Have I missed something? Is there a rule somewhere that says the depressed aren't allowed to get ******?

No not at all its not that that annoys me. Its the people that are faking it like White Dee for example. Shes too depressed to work but not depressed enough to spend taxpayers money on a holiday getting trollied.

'Dealing' with them generally involves punishing everyone who claims out of work benefits. In reality these people are a tiny minority, and it's not actually worth government time to deal with them. There are far bigger losses of state money that should be addressed first.

The government are masters of spin and media manipulation. They set up group after group and the general public fall for it time after time.

Look at the Doctors 24/7 thread at the moment. The majority of people have believed what the government have told them entirely.

You're an expert armchair psychologist now?

I don't think that getting drunk is restricted to a single class or income.

Who / what is hali? Its narrow minded to caricature the poor as lazy benefit scroungers.

]

Halibut or hali as he is affectionately known is a regular poster who, if the there is an end to a stick, he will be on the wrong end of it. He's the that denies that page hall has a problem. He's the one that proposes murdering people for their views.

I would be very interested to know where I or anyone else on this thread has caricatured the poor as you say.

Ok then firstly something needs to be done. If you value these people who I speak of even if they are a small minority then you will not want them to sit on benefits you will want them to have self esteem and contribute. Surely any decent person would want that for themselves and others.

So they do need to be dealt with. If they need help getting back into work they should get the support. However if after all that they cannot be bothered then why should we a taxpayer working our rear ends off pay for them.

As for being an armchair psychologist. I have witnessed depression first hand. A few of my work colleagues have suffered it. Yet they are now after some support are in work. They like me are appalled at the likes of White Dee living it large on holiday at our expense while they are struggling but managing their depression while working damn hard at what they do. Depression is a serious illness but it seems that there are some that chose to exploit it. And that is a huge detriment to those who are genuinely trying to help themselves through it.

But if youve got depression and no support + no money, its even harder to deal with. they are lucky to have a caring / supportive employer.

i think you have the wrong end of the stick - the unemployed dont get support to find work or training, just a never ending sequence of 'sanctions' and being pushed around. If you are unlucky enough to be deemed fit for work, and cant find work, then you might get sent on a work program for 70 quid a week. if you are disabled but deemed fit for work, same.

you seem quite reactionary in your posts without knowing the facts. looking to get a reaction from your ignorant ramblings. maybe stop watching so much trash tv?

cyclone is right in what he says. the unemployed / benefit cheats make up a very small percentage of the welfare bill. Tiny in comparison. just not worth enforcing.

jsa is 5bn (total bill) and tax credits is 30bn, and theres a 31bn tax shortfall and god know how much else squirrled away

Are you really that stupid?

you have to ask that question?

As title, I understand (do not condone) the resentment and hatred towards other insular advanced cultures such as Islam, but do not understand why so many folk here from the 'Socialist Republic of South Yorkshire' hates its poor?

my biggest gripe is how we demonise people.

anyone can fall on hard times, anyone. one minute you are a banker on 200k, the next an unemployable waster sponging off the public and then another suicide, it happens.

if we had more compassion for people and the state actually incentivised and helped the unemployed we would be better off as a society.
