Road Rage Is It Becoming More Common And Extreme?

Recommended Posts

With the tragic road rage death in Sussex that is truly shocking, do we need more tougher laws on this and how would they be implemented? . Iv seen road rage a few times over the years but never on this scale , it seems some people who get behide a car wheel have a charge of personality and the slightest thing bang the fists are out.

How do you have a charge tougher than murder?

As to is it becoming more common or extreme - the murder of Stephen Cameron by Kenneth Noye was 19 years ago.

I remember a fight back in the 60's when one bloke accussed another of scratching his car when opening the door.

I've experienced it once and witnessed it a further twice, in the last 12 months or so. So my personal experience is that it is definitely on the rise, and I've been driving for 40+ years.

It might just be a Sheffield thing?....Naaaaaa

CHRIST ALIVE!!!

Ive just youtube'd 'Road Rage UK'

Theres masses of them. I had no idea people were posting so many so it looks like it is on the increase.

Edit. Not all of them are road rage. 4 on the first page were just bad driving so looks like the term road rage is a bit of clickbait on good old youtube.

I wouldn't count number of videos as an indication of road rage increase.

Camera's are so much cheaper, easier and more common that everyone is recording you these days.

Naming and shaming on YouTube is the done thing now it seems.

(Type your car reg in and see if you get a mention)

Don't know about road rage but willingness to kill a fellow man for trivial things seems to be on the increase

No it isn't.

And no there is not more extreme road-rage, it is just a lot easier to capture these days (as Timeh found out ;)). What you have to keep into account as for how common it is though, is that there are more and more cars on the roads. More cars, less capacity means more incidents.

"no it isn't" well your statement must be correct then superior being !

Perhaps you could do a little research first instead of just mouthing off...?

for example.... http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/rel/crime-stats/crime-statistics/focus-on-violent-crime-and-sexual-offences--2013-14/index.html

The Crime Survey for England and Wales continues to show steady declines in violent crime over the last 20 years. Between the 1995 and the 2013/14 surveys, the number of violent crime incidents has fallen from 3.8 million in 1995 to 1.3 million in 2013/14.
