Yet another Black murder

Recommended Posts

As Halibut has already said, nobody has ever claimed that black people don't commit murder, what on Earth led you to think that? :suspect:

Criminals (OK if any colour) murdering people isn't a great surprise.

Cops murdering people instead is the exact opposite of what they're supposed to be doing.

That's what this thread is about.

Or maybe it's about bad parenting?

Civilians murdering cops is the exact opposite of what they are supposed to be doing. Shove the few rogue cops aside. I sleep safely in my bed at night because of the thin blue line out there. Were it otherwise I'd have to stand post and defend house and kin at the point of a gun

ONLY if the shoe fits.

In an almost identical thread (bad cops in the US) the following was a reply to Rootsbooster. Roots never even mentioned racism towards him let alone make an accusation or suggestion of it. Buck though in anticipation of something that didn't exist (paranoid) tried to cover his back with the 'I'm not a racist because my granddaughter is Black'..which is despicable and uncalled for..from two angles (1) he's assumed Roots thinks he's a racist and (2) he used the colour of his granddaughter skin to shake off the perceived threat from Roots that never even existed. He then goes on to tell us how not only is she Black but a violent Black at that.

Buck in his haste to "tell a story" drops himself in it and actually reveals what lies beneath...yeah, the surface may look 'pretty', if that's all you can see.

And this is why no one can discuss any issues of society that involve race - because someone will always shout 'racist' and put the discussion to bed.

I'm sorry, you lost me with this. BarryRiley is right, personal accusations just stifle any discussion and derail the thread.

Really?

Yet another white police officer dies in the line of duty, shot in the back multiple times while pumping gas. I'm sorry to have to say the man who shot him was black.

and the reply is...

No one cares about that you despicable racist!

Tell us Sierra..do you have a Black person in your family that isn't in any way the result of your decision, but wave it about on a public forum with "I'm not racist cos I have a black in the family"? It's cheap, nasty and commands nothing but disrespect if so. The one your bias is shielding is the one that introduced "the racist element" towards another poster by implication.

Maybe you could ignore the "Brother in arms" bull****e for a moment and drop the bias in favour of impartiality.

I think you know me a little better than this trollist, Sierra. I am a staunch defender of the United States, despite its many faults. for its inherent respect of other points of view without resorting to insult from behind the shield of the internet. The ignore stands and will stay so. Edited by buck

I try (sometimes not too hard) to be as impartial as I can, but we're all human. Yes, there are posters here I like more than others, that's true for everyone.

My bias? I guess I'm not following this discussion closely enough but mostly, all these racism accusations have me scratching my head. True racism is like pornography or art...you know it when you see it. Also, everyone's definition of what constitutes racism is different, which adds to the confusion.

I don't have the time or inclination to go back over someone's posting history to see if they've previously said something to contradict their current posts. I'm sorry, but I think you're making a big deal out of something that isn't a big deal and allowing yourself to off on a tangent.

I don't know BarryRiley and no one is right all the time, but in this particular instance he was right. It totally derailed the thread and any discussion has ground to a halt.

Since I went on ignore of this poster, the only time I see his posts are when someone else answers them. In the main, these answers have tended to be on my side, and I thank them. But just reading his posts show a person clearly in a hate situation, and I don't know why. I talk about my grandson's wife with honest affection, and jokingly say she's a fighter. So now I'm a closet racist!! I have many friends, colleagues and neighbors who are black, hispanic, asian, hindu, and muslim because I live in America. We've come a long way, and still a way to go, but we'll get there without the kind of nonsense coming out of some on this forum. There are only two people in my family who don't speak with an American accent, my Irish wife and I, and that's the way I like it.
